Russian citizens must have an original Russian passport upon arrival. In accordance with the Law of St. Petersburg of June 28, 2023 № 419-81 "On the introduction of a resort fee on the territory of St. Petersburg" on the territory of St. Petersburg from April 1, 2024, a resort fee is charged. Persons who have reached the age of 18 and plan to stay in accommodation facilities for more than 24 hours are required to pay a resort fee upon check-in. 21 preferential categories of citizens, including veterans, disabled people of 1-2 groups, students of St. Petersburg universities, members of large families and others, are exempt from paying the resort fee. If there is a benefit, residents must have the original document confirming the existence of the benefit, or a copy thereof certified in accordance with the established procedure.
