China has restrictions on geographic information data and uses a data blurring algorithm that adds random offsets to latitude and longitude data for national security purposes. According to local authorities, travellers who have arrived in Hainan recently from risk areas of COVID-19 are obliged to undergo necessary registration and inspection: 1. Travellers who have been to Urumqi on or after July 12, 2020 and haven’t been tested after arriving in Hainan, shall take a nucleic acid test in hospital or have the testing specimen collected at designated quarantine facilities after arriving in Sanya. (Home quarantine is mandatory before the negative test result being issued); 2. Travellers who have been to Dalian on or after July 23, 2020 and who don’t have a certificate of a negative nucleic acid test result issued within 7 days prior to their arrival, shall take a nucleic acid test in hospital or have the testing specimen collected at designated quarantine facilities after arriving in Sanya.
