Oude Pastorie en Dorpsschool Netze-Waldeck
Spend quality time with your party in a unique 1907 holiday home with historical charm. Ideal for large families looking for an unusual and spacious accommodation. In the loungeroom, relax by the wood-burning stove. Each bedroom reveals a unique story. For example, experience the Bavarian atmosphere in the 'Yodelahiti' room or the 'nostalgia room', where you can even spin a vinyl record on an authentic music system that has been around for over 60 years
Waldeck is surrounded by breathtaking scenery, green forests, rolling hills and picturesque trails. Waldeck invites you to discover these natural wonders and experience the healing power of nature. Whether you like easy walks or more challenging treks, the hiking trails offer something for everyone.
Visit the castle ruins of Weidelsburg. The well-preserved ruins are located on a 492 m high basalt cone, about 4 km north of the town near Ippinghausen. From the ruins, you have great views of the surrounding area.
Lake Edersee is a large reservoir, near Waldeck. Both really worth visiting. Nice to combine with Waldeck Castle. This is a castle, situated on a wooded rocky hill, just west of the Hessian town of Waldeck. The castle is located in the northern part of the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park on the northern shore of Lake Edersee. The castle can be reached from the town via a road.
Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe near Kassel is a large Baroque-style park that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It houses the famous statue of Hercules and an impressive waterfall, and it is a popular spot for tourists and locals alike.
Kassel is also a beautiful city to visit. As the home of the world art exhibition 'Documenta', Kassel is not only one of the most important art addresses in Europe, but also one of the greenest cities in Germany: its green surface area takes up around 60 percent. This makes Kassel a true oasis for anyone looking for peace and relaxation: because here, in the midst of greenery, between the Habicht Forest, Reinhardswald and Kaufunger Forest, health and wellness take centre stage with the Kassel Bad Wilhelmshöhe thermal salt baths. Also very famous, of course, are the Grimm brothers, known for their fairy tale collections, lived and worked in Kassel for a while. There is even a museum, the Brüder Grimm-Museum, dedicated to their life and work in the city
