Gemäß den behördlichen Vorschriften und den Bestimmungen zur Erhebung einer Zugangsgebühr mit oder ohne Shuttle-Service in Venedig und auf den kleinen Inseln in der Lagune von Venedig wird Tagesgästen, die nicht über Nacht bleiben und von Freitag bis Sonntag oder an Feiertagen zwischen 8:30 und 16:00 Uhr die Altstadt besuchen möchten, eine zusätzliche Gebühr berechnet. Die Gebühr beträgt je nach Buchungsdatum zwischen 5,00 und 10,00 € pro Tag. Nach der Zahlung müssen Reisegäste eine Bestätigung vorweisen. Von dieser Gebühr befreit sind Kinder unter 14 Jahren, in Venedig und der Region Venetien Ansässige sowie Personen, die in Venedig arbeiten oder studieren. Übernachtungsgäste sind ebenfalls von dieser Gebühr befreit und müssen die Stadtsteuer in den Beherbergungsbetrieben entrichten. Eine Reinigungsgebühr ist nicht im Buchungspreis enthalten und separat im Hotel zu entrichten. Obligatorische Galadinner-Gebühren können in italienischen Hotels gelten.
