About this tour
Merging the great blue beasts of the ocean with the wild wanderers of the bushveld, this overnight coastal route safari is a quick escape from Cape Town to see most of the Big 5 animals in the malaria-free Botlierskop private game reserve, situated just 4,5 hours from Cape Town. Day one starts with a visit to the adorable African penguins at Betty's Bay, then spectacular seasonal (Jun-Oct) land-based whale watching along the Hermanus cliff paths or postcard views as you wind along with dramatic ocean scenes of Clarence drive.Immerse yourself in the comforts of your glamping tent accommodation, spotting free-roaming wildlife from your private wooden deck along the riverbed and end the night with an African inspired dinner under a twinkly starry sky. Rise before the sun with a 4x4 game drive to catch the bush as it awakes and after breakfast, get even closer to nature with the choice of a horseback safari or an indulgent bush spa treatment before heading back to Cape Town. Please note: A minimum of 2 people are required to confirm this tour departure.Extra Info: === Minimum age is 8 years. Children between 8 and 17 must be accompanied by an adult. *This tour is not suitable for children younger than 8 years of age. Please contact us for an exclusive private tour quote for your family. According to availability at time of booking, accommodation will be in the mentioned hotel or in one of a similar standard and star rating. Final accommodation details can only be provided to you on request about 5 days after full payment. It is recommended that you bring: comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, sun hat, jacket for cooler evenings, beach towel and swimming costume. The exact itinerary is subject to change and may, on occasions, run in reverse order. Wildlife is unpredictable and animal sightings can't be guaranteed, but that makes safari experiences even more exciting as you'll never know what you'll find around the next bend. Leopards are nocturnal and rarely seen on Western Cape safari drives as they hide high up in mountainous areas in this region. Fences do not keep these cats in any specific reserve, they roam freely across the country. This tour requires at least 2 people to confirm the departure date. Please do not book any flights or pre-/post accommodation until the tour operator email you your travel confirmation voucher directly by email. Tours are only guaranteed once it is listed as a guaranteed departure. You will be informed of any changes at least 5 work days before the trip start date. An alternative option, another available date or full refund can be offered.
